One of the ways you can expand the selection of beautiful background images for your desktop computer and laptop is through wallpaper download from some sites on the Internet. Downloading from the official website of your computer’s operating system (O/S) is the first place to go as far as Windows or Microsoft is concerned.

But in case of Apple or Macintosh Operating system, you cannot find background image download from the Apple official website. All background images that can be applied to a particular version of Mac O/S have been preinstalled and are not available for download again.

But, where you have found a desktop background image that interest you and of which you are desirous to have installed on your Mac computer, you can confirm the version of the O/S of the Mac Computer and search from popular engines for the O/S version with the name of the background image. You can check those sites on top of the search list to see your desired image.

Once you open the site and you are able to preview the background image,

a.       Right-click on the image and a pop-up menu comes up.

b.      Scroll to where you can see the “Set as Background” on the pop-up menu and left-click it. You will discover that your desktop background image has changed to the new decorative paper you have just previewed.

You can as well get background images and HD wallpaper for your computer system from third party websites. You will search online like before for images or photos from web-based wildlife photographers, fine arts, sports and so on. You can also try to search for related terms photos such as the sea life, underwater coral, Reef, Great barriers, coral reef and many more. You will see numerous images that you can choose from to take as your background photos.

Once you see the image or photo you want, you can save it into your computer by right clicking and choosing “Save image as”. You can as well choose from the pop-up menu the “Set as background image” to have the image automatically set as background wallpaper on your system.

There are also some commercial image library sites where users of computers, especially those that have Windows O/S can do background wallpaper download from. These online libraries have many high-quality and high definition images and are the main sources where most web and graphic designers get photos and images they use for their works. While you can get background images for free from these web-based libraries, you may still have to pay a small amount to get high-resolution images and photos from these sites.
